Kitso Kgori

From an early age I have always had a vision, a keen eye for art and attention to detail. I studied Architectural Technology in Cape Town and would not have chosen any other direction of study. During my time as a scholar I was able to refine my innate attributes through rigorous training from the point of inception through to realisation. Along this journey of documenting my work through drawing, modelling and curating, I discovered my underlying love of photography which further encouraged my eye to capture things differently through the use of symmetry with my core focus being contrast. I achieve this either through the use of pattern (calm vs. busy), colour (carefully selected colours to make elements stand out) and light (subjects which are illuminated vs. those which aren't.) These colours can be subtle or starkly juxtaposed.

Contrast is something I experience and observe daily and is the focus of my craft.
