Daniel Maritz grew up in South Africa, but he was born in Windhoek, Namibia on the 17th of October 1986.  After he completed high school Daniel moved to England for a few years, then returned to South Africa after the death of his 2nd brother in 2007 to further his studies in Psychology at Unisa and to pursue his modeling career.

Daniel is one of the few South African male models that have a great international modeling career, which has been managed by Boss models Johannesburg for over 10 years. Daniel’s modeling career skyrocketed after he walked for various designers at SA fashion week 2007, which resulted in him appearing on the TV show Glitterati. In 2008 he started his international career and featured in campaigns for Hart Schaffner Marx, Huawei, Polo, Giordano, Speedo, Charriol, Pierre Cardin, Satchi, Skechers,Felix Buhler, Jack Nicklaus, Lynx, Montagut, PGA tour, Pringle of Scotland,  and South African brands like Soviet, Edgars & Jet. He also appeared in magazines like GQ, FHM, Grazia, Wanted, Gafencu, & Sandton to mention a few. He also did many TV commercials for brands like Huawei, Suzuki, Asus, Samsung, Remia BBQ sauce and Black Desert online game. He also appeared on a few TV commercials for South African brands like Edgars, Debonairs and the TV soapie - The Wild.

Daniel then went on to start his own YouTube channel in 2018 called DLM MODEL LIFESTYLE. Breaking the stereotype of a typical model’s character; his down to earth, humble, caring and honest personality won the hearts of people across the world, which led his channel to grow to 140 000  subscribers in the first 8 months and over 3 million views, which is rare in the “Youtube world”.

His goal is to give people the best tips on Style, Grooming, and Fitness while motivating them to achieve their own goals. From the vast amount of information out there on grooming, style, and fitness, he aims to give viewers only the basic truth of what really works from his own experience.
