Ade Van Heerden

Miss Sa 2017 / Doctor.

Ade van Heerden is a South African model, medical doctor and second lieutenant in the South African Military Health Services.

She comes from Herolds Bay in the Western Cape but has called Cape Town home for the past few years.

Ade entered Miss South Africa 2017 as an opportunity to enrich not only her own life but contribute to the growth and success of South Africa. She considers her Miss South Africa journey to be an honour and strives to represent the new and upcoming generation of women in South Africa.

She emerged as the as the first princess at the Miss South Africa competition and later took over the Miss South African crown from Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters who was crowned Miss Universe. Newly crowned Miss South Africa, Ade van Heerden, embarked on her Miss World journey with the hopes to show the Miss World organization her heart. After spending a month in Sanya, China for the Miss World pageant, Ade make waves by making the top 10. Ade made South African history by being the first runner up to place in the top 10 for Miss World, while winning the Beauty with a Purpose title on pageant night as well.

The Rose Parent Project is Ade’s charity initiative for Miss World. The project places patients suffering from mental health in homes with ‘parents’ who can care for them. As the official ambassador for Lentegeur Hospital, Ade strives to break the stigma of mental health and depression by talking about it. She believes that the sooner we can recognise our feelings, the sooner the path to recovery begins.
